Which types of injections do we give at home in Marrakech?
SAMU Marrakech administers every prescribed type of injection, performed by state-certified nurses (IDE). Intramuscular (IM) injections cover antibiotics, corticosteroids and certain long-term treatments. Subcutaneous (SC) injections include anticoagulants (LMWH), insulin and fertility treatments. Intravenous (IV) injections and short infusions are performed when the treatment requires it. We also administer vaccines, vitamin B12 and iron injections. Every act follows strict aseptic technique and the prescribing doctor's protocol, in coordination with our home nursing service and our home IV therapy service.
How does an at-home injection work?
After your call, we schedule the nurse according to the prescribed frequency — once, daily or over several weeks. The nurse arrives at your home with single-use sterile equipment, checks your prescription and treatment, prepares the injection under strict aseptic conditions, administers it and safely disposes of waste in an approved container. They watch for any reaction and send a report to the doctor if needed. For regular treatments such as insulin or anticoagulants, we set up a fixed visit schedule, including evenings, nights and weekends, across all of Marrakech.
At-home injections for chronic patients, seniors and tourists
At-home injections spare difficult trips for chronic patients, seniors with reduced mobility and patients in recovery. Our nurses manage post-surgery anticoagulant injections, insulin for people with diabetes and hormonal treatments. For tourists and expats visiting Marrakech, our multilingual team (French, Arabic, English) comes directly to your riad, hotel or villa on presentation of the prescription. If broader medical care is needed, we coordinate a visit from a home doctor.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Every injection requires a medical prescription specifying the product, dose and frequency. Our nurses check the prescription before each injection and strictly follow the prescribing doctor's protocol. Without a prescription, we can coordinate a home doctor consultation.
